Salisbury FC Development Manager, Mark Winter said…

“With everything that the city and the country have gone through in the last 14 months, I feel this year’s Hospital Cup is more poignant than ever before. The Dev are proud to be representing the club in this and it will be a great experience for the squad. Since April this year, we have played the likes of Downton, Romsey, Totton and Ealing 1st teams, all from the Wessex league, and given a seriously good account of ourselves. So, I think although playing the likes of Andover Town, Laverstock & Ford and Amesbury in the group stages will be a test no doubt, it is the level of teams I would have wanted for a few games in our pre-season. This tournament is ideal for us while benefiting the Salisbury Hospital charity at the same time.

“It’s very early in pre-season and understandably some lads are trialling elsewhere, so it will be a few weeks before our squad is finalised. All being well, not only are our young squad all going to be a year older and more developed, but we have brought in some quality to add to the squad. So SHC aside I am looking forward to a strong league campaign for the season ahead.”

Salisbury FC Development will be in Group 2 in the opening stage of the competition.
