Youth Football and Breakfast at the Ray Mac

Kick this Saturday off with bacon rolls, a cup of tea and football at the Ray Mac for breakfast

Warm up for the trip up to Harrow Borough this Saturday with a peek into the future, when White's under 16's take on Bristol Inner City academy in what will be the final pre-season game for both sides.

The two sides met in the 1st round of the Junior Premier League 'elite' cup back in October. That was a seriously entertaining game in which the whites came back from being 2 down to level the game. An end to end final 20 minutes saw both sides create chances to win it, however it was the Bristol side that took their chance and progressed to the next round. In fact they went on to win the whole thing with victory in Manchester over Worcester City that saw them crowned the 'JPL National Elite Cup Winners'. That rounded off a remarkable season that saw only one defeat in over 30 competitive fixtures.

So Mark Winter and Richard Rendall's young squad are in for a tough challenge this Saturday morning. There preseason has been a trio of 1 v 1 draws against Basingstoke, Eastleigh academy and our own U18's. Both coaches will be looking for a positive performance to take into their opening JPL league fixture next Saturday away to Portsmouth.

SFC youth is extremely grateful to the club for giving both teams the opportunity to play this game at the Ray Mac. As some of the young Whites will be hoping they can break into the development side this season, getting on the pitch tomorrow should be the greatest encouragement they can get to push on and get back out there on a regular basis.
