Walton Casuals Match Preview - Steve's Thoughts.

After our win against Staines Town on Saturday, Salisbury travel to the Elmbridge Sports Hub on Tuesday evening where we face Walton Casuals. Looking to gain a further three points after our success at the weekend to move us further up the table. Walton chalked up their first win of the season on Saturday against Swindon Supermarine and will be full of confidence heading into the match.

When I asked Steve about his plans, he said “We’ll be waiting until shortly before the game to be sure which players we have available. We didn’t play Jake Wannell during Saturday’s game to keep him fit for the midweek trip. The pitch at Walton is a 3G surface, which Kane O’Keefe can’t play on due to his knee. So with Elliot Wheeler’s suspension coming up, it was better to keep Jake for Tuesday rather than risk him gaining an injury and us ending up with a lack of centre-half options.

“It's always a bit of an unknown on synthetic pitches, the quality differs from one to another. We handled it well when we visited Cirencester last season, so I would hope for a similar outcome this time.”

The Whites are currently sitting 11th in the league with this match being our game in hand over the teams around us, it would be a valuable win if we can claim it.

Safe journey to the team and all travelling fans.

COME ON YOU WHITES!
