Darrell's Rovers return to the Ray Mac

By Thom Belk

FORMER Salisbury City player and manager Darrell Clarke will again be bringing his Bristol Rovers to the Ray Mac for a prestige friendly this summer.

Rovers, promoted to the Sky Bet Football League One last Saturday, will kick-off Whites' pre-season programme on Saturday July 9th, with a midday kick off.

The fixture announcement comes on top of the match arranged with League Two Portsmouth for Tuesday July 19th.

Rovers will be coming to the Ray Mac as a promoted side for the second season in a row. Last year, having won the Conference play-off final to return to the Football League, they drew a crowd of 1,068 in winning 4-1.

"It's another great game for us," said Whites manager Steve Claridge. "Darrell has done us proud again and we're really grateful."
