Salisbury FC sign Armed Forces Covenant
Salisbury FC is pleased to announce that prior to the pre-season friendly against Bristol Rovers this coming Saturday (July 15th), at approximately 12.45pm, 15 minutes before kick-off, we will be signing the Armed Forces Covenant. The Covenant recognises the value Service Personnel (Regular and Reserve), Cadets, Veterans and military families contribute to our country.
The club is based near to the Salisbury Plain military training area as well as numerous military barracks such as Bulford, Larkhill and Tidworth. As a result, it was decided that we should show our commitment to the Armed Forces through the signing of the Covenant. Hopefully the weather will allow us to conduct a small signing ceremony on the pitch.
Said Salisbury FC chairman Ian Hammond: “Salisbury as a city has a long and proud tradition of association with our neighbouring military, who make such a wonderful contribution to the nation. The new club of Salisbury FC echoes that pride and is delighted to be associated with this initiative and host this ceremony.”
