Dave's Stat Alert!!
Dave Todd has a tremendous collection of data starting at the formation of the new club. He's kindly keeping an eye on upcoming milestones so that we are kept informed as they happen. So here's his first 'Stat Alert'.
Whites midfielder Danny Young made his 99th appearance for the club in the League Cup tie at Highworth meaning that next time out he will become the eighth member of the ‘100 club’ following Tom Whelan, George Colson, Claudio Herbert, Eddie Perrett, Kane O’Keefe, Elliot Wheeler and Lewis Benson.
Danny was part of the line up for the Whites’ first competitive fixture at Brockenhurst on 8 August 2015, along with Colson, O’Keefe and Callum Hart, the only others still at the club from that day.
I had a quick chat with Danny about his achievement.
IP) How do you feel to be reaching this record?
DY) It’s great to finally hit the 100 mark, although without the long-term injury a couple of seasons ago it would have happened a lot sooner!
IP) You're well known for your work rate. What is it that that's kept you putting in 100% effort for every one of the previous 99 matches for Salisbury FC?
DY) I’m a local lad, grew up in Salisbury so it means a lot to have the opportunity to play for my hometown so will always give 100% on the pitch.
IP) 100 more?
DY) I will certainly be aiming for another 100 that’s for sure!
Congratulations Danny and we hope you're with SFC for many more years.
Thanks to Dave and Danny for their input on this article.
