Thoughts from the Manager
I spoke to manager Steve Claridge today about his thoughts on Saturday’s match against Hartley Wintney and upcoming fixtures in the League Cup and FA Cup.
"Happy with the result on Saturday and looking at the teams above us that mostly won it was a case of needing those three points. Obviously really pleased with the clean sheet which we gained from a slight change in style, as when we didn’t have the ball we had to make the pitch smaller not allowing the opposition to counter as Met Police had done previously. Obviously, it will be a really difficult game on Tuesday night against a side who are going very well in Paulton Rovers but it’s a competition that we want to do well in as it provides us with a great opportunity to not only give players game time but provide a chance for individuals to stake their claim for Saturday.
"We’ve got a decent squad now with players coming back from injury and the more games we can give to people against good opposition the better. Talking of injuries Darren Mulling’s cut eye is progressing well, we’re hoping Ollie Knowles will be fit for the game as will Dan Fitchett after his dead leg and we’re awaiting news on Tom Smith. Thanks once again for the fantastic support on Saturday and if you can’t make the game at Paulton please try and get to the huge FA cup game on Saturday at the Ray Mac."
