YOUTH - Hampshire FA U18 Floodlit cup

The under 18's take their first steps in the Hants FA floodlit cup this Thursday evening with the visit of Fleet Spurs to the Ray Mac.
The Visitors play in the combined counties youth league, whereas the Whites ply their trade in the south west counties youth league. So a similar situation to last Saturdays FA cup tie at the Ray Mac, which league is the stronger? With Spurs only having played one game to date (according to full time) it impossible to draw conclusions.

The Whites, on the other hand, have played 5 competitive games to date which started with that FA cup game at the Ray at the beginning of September. Anyone there that night will know the home team deserved more than the defeat in that game but injuries early in the 2nd half put paid to any fightback from going 2-3 down.

Since then the following 3 league fixtures have proved difficult with players still struggling to shake injuries picked up in the FA cup. Last Saturdays encounter with New College Swindon provided the Whites with a resounding 4 v 0 victory. No surprise that it was also the first match one of the goal scorers Brad Waters (2) had been fit to play in since then, as was influential Aiden Savage.

Salisbury are also boosted by two new signings this week to bolster attack and midfield, with striker Rafael Martins Marques Souto Maior (Rafa for short)
And attacking mid Ryan Cheng. Both bring experience of playing at a very high level. With Whites duo of Alfie Hawke and Owen Davis being unavailable to the club for this tournament both new signing will go straight into Thursday's match day squad.

Mark Winter adds a cup game under the lights at the Ray Mac is always a special occasion. But for these lads so early in the careers it is an extra special night. Would be great to get a bit of support for them in this cup. It is certainly one we would like to get a run in.
