The club’s Development squad has been accepted into the Wiltshire Senior League formally known as the Wiltshire Premier League which is at level 11 for the 2021/22 season. This promotes to the Wessex league div 1, Hellenic League Division 1 West; Western League Division One.

Dev manager Mark Winter says, “This is a bit of a game-changer for the club and the development squad. We will now be playing our own competitive 1st team football week in week out. Myself, Rich, Nick and Rhys all see this as a big test of our lads and it won’t be easy but the potential is there for promotion to the Wessex and closer to the clubs 1st team as we develop and prepare players for Steve’s squad.

“We have seen from performances against teams at this level and Wessex teams that we can compete from a football point of view, now it is adjusting to the physical challenges. We also feel competing in the NLS will help us attract and keep the best young players longer than we would in the development league.

“The Dev’s home matches will be played at the Ray Mac and at Amesbury FC’s home at Bonnymead Park. We would like to go on record and say a massive thank you to Amesbury Town FC and its committee with agreeing to let us play fixtures at their ground. Without their help, we wouldn’t have been able to accept this opportunity.”

Salisbury FC Dev is looking for sponsors to help us take this step up. If you would like to know more please call Mark on 07730 684230

The Wiltshire senior league kicks off on the 14th of August.
