Preview

We’ll be looking at many players on the day to see if they’re fit. That’s just fit to play, not necessarily match fit. There’s a big difference as we’ve seen with Josh Sommerton. Those first few games after he came back, he wasn’t up to the standard we know he’s capable of. After getting the minutes on the pitch you could see his sharpness return and he has been brilliant the last 3 games. He’s on another level and that is what match fitness rather than being fit to play does.

There were only 5 players available for the last training session. We have no chance to work on anything when things are like this. This is what we’re up against at the moment. I’ve been in the game over 30 years, and I’ve never known anything like this.

Sionni has just had an operation, Marvin is waiting to see a specialist, and Josh Wakefield will be out with a thigh problem. Roberts, Kennedy, Ashton, Baggie, Mullings, Fitchett, Knowles, and Arnold will all have fitness tests.

Josh Fawole’s loan has ended and Lewys Twamley has returned to Newport County. I’d like to thank them for their effort and wish them well for the future.
