Last week’s away match to Eastbourne Borough saw the Whites secure a crucial point and a clean sheet.

The first key chance of the match fell to George Penn, whose effort from the edge of the box collided with the post in the 24th minute.

Another narrow miss fell to Josh Hedges in the 55th minute, who broke through the Eastbourne defence and shot from inside the box.

With the match drawing to a close, Tom Cove unleashed a shot inside the box, but the defender was able to pull off the block, and the points were shared.

The opponents, Dorking Wanderers, also carried out a goalless draw at the weekend, as they played Dagenham and Redbridge. The scoreline does not tell the whole story, as Wanderers thought they took the lead early on in the match – the goal was ruled out for a foul on the keeper.

Despite the lack of goals in their previous fixture, Dorking Wanderers had plenty of goals in their previous FA Cup Qualifying match, firing seven goals to progress into the next round 7-2. Goal scorers included Dennon Lewis, Josh Taylor, Alfie Rutherford, Brennan Camp, and Charlie Carter, who bagged a hat-trick.

Prior to this, our opponents secured a win at home to Totton. The side fell behind in the first half, through Totton’s Tony Lee, who beat the keeper. They equalled the score through Alfie Rutherford at the end of the first half, with Charlie Carter sealing the win for his side.

Both sides will look to progress into the fourth and final round of FA Cup qualifiers, which will take place on the 11th October.
