At the weekend, Salisbury hosted Dorking Wanderers in a match which ended 1-1 thanks to a Matty Briggs equaliser, meaning there will be a replay tomorrow at Dorking’s ground.
The visitors broke the deadlock early in the match in the second minute when Jimmy Muitt found Louis Storey waiting in the box.
They managed to maintain their goal margin for the entirety of the first half, despite some valiant efforts to overturn the scoreline from Tommy-Lee Higgs and Harry Tustin. James McShane had a good opportunity for Dorking as well, but his attempt was not on target.
Into the second half, The Whites came out hungry for a goal, which was provided early as Noah Coppin sent a ball over the top to Matty Briggs, who did well to get it under control, before beating Noah Phillips.
Salisbury manager, Brian Dutton said: “It was a proper FA cup tie… it finished a draw but either team could have gone on to win it, we’re really pleased with that performance.
“They showed real character once again; that’s probably the most pleasing thing. When things are going against you there and you’re not having much luck it’s easy to roll over. But the boys didn’t they stuck at it and deserve to still be in the hat.”
